Michelle Eno
Board Member at Large
Michelle grew up in Maple Corners, Calais, Vermont. After graduating from U-32 she studied Human Services/Social Work at SUNY Plattsburgh. Which was far enough away to give her some freedom but still close to home so that she was able to visit her animals and family. During her senior year at SUNY she returned to Montpelier to complete an internship with the Vermont Center for Independent Living (VCIL). Upon graduation she continued with VCIL working as a Resource Manager and Information and Referral Specialist. In 2000 she started working for The Social Security Administration (SSA) as a Claims Representative. She is currently a Technical Expert and is proud to be able to give back to the community that raised her.
Michelle’s love for, and connection with, animals began when she was young. She found her first stray, a black cat, in a parking lot when she was three. Shadow was the first of many critters, four and two legged, to be welcomed into her family. Her rescues have included dogs, cats, chicken’s, rabbits and once an injured pigeon named Pete. She currently lives in East Montpelier with her cat Jersey. Her dog Izzy, rabbits Bunbun and Missy, along with her pony Juppie all live with her retired Father in Calais, where they have room to roam and his undivided attention.
As a board member, Michelle uses her experiences working with disabled community members and knowledge of SSA programs, to help further our mission of providing much needed care for animals and support to their humans. When able to, she provides additional support by volunteering at our community events.
