Rob Chapman
 Executive Director

Rob Chapman brings more than 30 years of nonprofit leadership, community engagement, and public service experience to his role as Executive Director of The Mitzvah Fund. A lifelong animal lover, Rob has dedicated his professional career to mission-driven organizations that strengthen communities, foster connection, and improve access to vital services and information.

Rob began his career in community media in Vermont in the early 1990s, where he trained independent producers, managed public access facilities, and supported local storytelling and civic participation. Over the next three decades, he went on to lead several nonprofit media organizations across Vermont, Massachusetts, and California, including The Media Factory in Burlington, Onion River Community Access Media (ORCA Media), Community Media of the Foothills in California, and most recently Beverly Community Access Media (BevCAM) in Massachusetts.

Throughout his career, Rob has overseen nonprofit operations including budgeting, strategic planning, board governance, staff leadership, municipal partnerships, and community programming. His work has consistently centered on building sustainable organizations that serve the public good and strengthen civic and human connection.

In addition to his executive leadership roles, Rob has served on numerous nonprofit and professional boards, including the Alliance for Community Media Northeast Region, Vermont Access Network, MassAccess, Lost Nation Theater, and the South End Arts and Business Association. He is also a graduate of the Snelling Center for Government’s Vermont Leadership Institute and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Vermont.

Rob’s lifelong compassion for animals and deep appreciation for the human-animal bond made joining The Mitzvah Fund a natural next step. He is honored to support the organization’s mission of helping families care for beloved pets during times of medical hardship. Rob lives in Montpelier, Vermont, and is excited to help guide The Mitzvah Fund through its next chapter of growth and impact.
