Rebecca O'Berry
Vice President

Rebecca has called Brookfield home since moving to Vermont in 2002. She and her husband share their lives with an ever-growing family of donkeys, alpacas, pigs, a goat, dogs, and cats. Her three adult children live in Virginia and Maine.

Rebecca’s career has been rooted in human healthcare — a field she believes is, at its core, about people caring for one another. She has seen firsthand how compassion and creativity can make a profound difference in how care is delivered.

In Vermont, Rebecca held several positions at Dartmouth Health, overseeing clinic operations across New Hampshire and Vermont. She then joined UVM Medical Center, where she led surgical services, women’s services, and education and training — balancing day-to-day patient care leadership with longer-term work in staff recruitment and retention.

Most recently, Rebecca served as Vice President of Operations at Gifford Health Care in Randolph, Vermont, where she managed the full scope of organizational operations — financial management, budgeting, strategic planning, procurement, and community partnerships.

Rebecca also teaches as an adjunct professor at Franklin Pierce University’s College of Business, focusing on healthcare administration, management, and leadership. She is passionate about developing the next generation of healthcare leaders.

Outside of healthcare, Rebecca is deeply involved with the Randolph Area Food Shelf (RAFS). She has served in several roles including President. Her focus has been on creating a welcoming, judgment-free environment for shoppers. Providing nourishment while preserving shopper dignity is imperative. She also enjoys strengthening relationships with local farmers and community partners which in turn increases access to fresh and locally grown produce and products.

Rebecca’s love of animals has been a constant thread throughout her life — from childhood pets to the menagerie she tends today. That early experience taught her that caring for another living being is both a responsibility and a gift, and that unconditional love is one of the most powerful forces there is.

Her combined experience in healthcare, community service, and animal care brings to the Board a rare blend of expertise in grant funding, legislative awareness, healthcare systems, and — above all — a deep compassion for the bond between humans and animals.
