Kayla Miner, DVM Veterinarian
Kayla was born with a love for animals and people. Her animal medical experiences started young; when Kayla was 12, it was her responsibility to give twice-daily insulin to the family cat, Sheela.
Kayla studied Animal Science at the University of Maryland and then earned her Veterinary degree at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018.
Kayla spent the first 5 years of her career as a cat veterinarian, before transitioning back into the world of mixed dog-and-cat medicine to join the Mitzvah Fund. Kayla still has a soft spot for elderly cats and their people.
When she's not on the clock, you might find Kayla mentoring local teens, hiking local mountains, baking construction-grade gingerbread, or sitting very very still in a sunbeam with her cat, Barnabas.
